It took some perseverance on my part to find the solution, and I'm sure, someone with less understanding than me could never have solved this on their own. I believe there is serious bug or design fault with the Nvidia drivers that can't be solved by us mere mortals. Many problems that you encounter can be attributed to a corrupt and bloated registry. Nvidia itself has not released a fix for this, however, many users have collaborated to produce a fix that can fix it.
